Noise & Detection Basics
Last updated: Mar 20, 2026
Most failed runs do not collapse because of one huge mistake. They collapse because teams stack small noisy choices in a short window. This page gives you a simple model to prevent that.
Soft noise
- Frequent door interactions in nearby rooms
- Constant short sprints near patrol lanes
- Players cutting different routes at once
Soft noise is survivable, but it raises attention over time.
Hard noise
- Loud interactions when routes are not cleared
- Chaotic rescues with no regroup point
- Late-run panic movement near extraction
Hard noise often forces a full team pivot within seconds.
The 20-second rule
- If two noisy actions happen in 20 seconds, pause greed and stabilize route timing.
- If three happen, rotate to your fallback lane immediately.
- If four happen, cut loot and transition toward extraction.
Voice callouts that reduce noise chains
- "Hold 3 seconds, patrol crossing."
- "No split routes, regroup left hall."
- "Noise high, extraction prep now."
