Demo First-Heist Checklist
Last updated: Feb 23, 2026
A compact checklist for players trying the demo for the first time. The focus is to reduce avoidable friction before your first serious run.
Before launching
- Confirm your friend group is online on Steam (if playing co-op).
- Check microphone / push-to-talk setup if using voice comms.
- Close heavy background apps if your system is borderline.
- Decide who will host the lobby.
First 5 minutes in game
- Verify movement, interact, crouch, sprint, and drop keybinds.
- Test one safe regroup callout spot early.
- Set a simple team rule: location first, problem second in comms.
- Choose a loot plan (risk-first or loot-first) before moving deep.
Mid-run discipline
- Avoid splitting for low-value items if pressure is rising.
- Keep one player watching route timing instead of everyone looting.
- Drop weight and regroup when a rescue would otherwise chain-fail.
- Start extraction earlier than your team thinks it needs to.
After the run (for improvement)
- Write down what caused the first major collapse.
- Note one callout phrase that worked well.
- Record one settings or input issue to fix before the next run.
- Keep the next plan simpler, not more ambitious.
How to make this page more valuable
Add your own run notes and mistakes after each demo session (for example: “we failed because we over-carried before choosing extraction”). That turns a generic checklist into original coaching content.
